Simply Good Eats- Calgary

Philly Beef SteakHappy Mother’s Day everyone (especially you mom). I have a fabulous mother. She really makes life grand! I also have a fabulous husband who took me on a farmer’s market shopping spree for Mother’s Day. We had an absolute blast. I chose Simply Good Eats for lunch, pretty much everything on the menu sounded fabulous, so I finally decided on the Philly Cheese Steak, and am I ever glad I did! It was scrumptious. The fries are homemade from real potatoes, one thing I love about fries is when you can tell they actually make them from potatoes, not a bag of pre frozen stuff. One thing important to know is they are cash only, luckily I happened to have cash on me, phew, close one! Other yummy sounding menu items were Belgian Waffle with Strawberries and whipped cream, Poutine, Eggs Benedict, Beef Dip, lots of possibilities! I will be back, for sure, as my meal was delicious!

Here is what I got from the market, as my “present”, yes I am spoiled! Plus, as a special bonus I also got a much needed new popcorn popper.

Quizno’s Subs- Calgary

yummy lunchApparently when ever we go to Quizno Subs my husband gets to hear, this is so good, why don’t we come here more often. It is true, I said it again. He tells me I say it every time we go. It must be those amazing pickled peppers that come on the side. I love those things, today I had 8. Maybe a bit much but I just couldn’t stop myself. Along with my pile of peppers I also tried out the beef and swiss on garlic bread. It was amazing, delicious sauce, and sautéed mushrooms as a special little bonus. Husband always and I mean always gets the Turkey Bacon Guacamole, and I can say that one is really good too, because I always and I mean always steal a few bites. The service we receive is always excellent at the 130th location.

Tim Horton’s -Calgary

Lasagna with Garlic BreadIt’s that time of the year again, roll-up the rim to win is back. For all you Americans out there that have no idea what I am talking about it is a popular promotion at Tim Horton’s. Basically you buy a hot beverage and roll up your cup at the end to see if you are a winner. The kids love to go and test their luck, and today Jordan won a second free hot beverage. She was quite happy. Erik has decided that he loves the new Lasagna combo, so all kids are pretty pleased when we stop in at Timmy’s for a quick-lunch on the go.
